OPEN ARTIST CALL FOR OMSA GALLERY FOR 2025 CALENDAR YEAR

Submission Deadline:

Submit your artwork by the deadline of September 21, 2024 to be considered for the 2025 Calendar year.

General Information:

Artists from any stage of their career (emerging or established) and from any country can apply to exhibit at OMSA Gallery in our new edition of “Opening the Gates” where we allow new and fresh ideas to flow.

Accepted Artistic Disciplines include but are not limited to:

  • Works on canvas, board, paper, and other supports
  • Mediums such as oil, acrylic, collage, printmaking, watercolors, and mixed media
  • Photography, digital art (including AI assisted art), video art
  • Sculpture, fiber art, and installation made from any archival medium.
  • Special interest in sustainable artistic practices.
 

Artwork Specifications:

  • No specific size limit, but for artwork larger than 9 ft on any side, please contact us before submitting.
  • A single artwork with multiple elements (e.g., diptych or triptych) is considered one submission.
  • Artwork in a series that can be sold or shown individually are considered separate submissions.
  • Collaborative works are eligible. List all artist names under the artist name field and use your group name under the pseudonym field if applicable.
 

Framing and Mounting Criteria:

  • Artwork stretching, mounting, or framing (for 2D works) is not required for the selection process but will be necessary if the work is approved and exhibited.
  • Gallery stretched canvases (at least 35mm deep) can be exhibited unframed.
  • Canvases less than 35mm deep must be framed.
  • Other 2D artwork (works on board, paper, etc.) must be appropriately framed or mounted.
  • Artwork specifically designed to be unframed are exempt; please contact us for clarification if needed.
  • All 2D works should be ready to hang with string, hooks, or other hanging fixtures.
  • The gallery provides screens for video art, so only the digital file is needed. Artists with specific screens or display equipment may provide them if desired.
 

Additional Information:

  • Artists can submit previously exhibited or published works, but must be available for exhibition.
  • Submitted artwork can be from any year of an artist’s career.
  • All artists are invited to attend the exhibitions openings, but personal attendance is not required.
  • Image quality is important for the selection process. Ensure your submission looks good on your screen as we will see it the same way. All formats are accepted with a 10MB limit per file.
  • Please provide your Bio, CV and an Artist Statement with your submission.
