After a challenging childhood and a life-changing move to France at the age of 18, Touils turned to painting as a means of emotional expression and self-discovery. Entirely self-taught, he developed a distinctive visual language defined by luminous color, expressive brushwork, and an atmosphere of warmth and possibility. Touils first gained international recognition with his solo exhibition True Colours, which marked his UK debut and introduced his work to a broader global audience.
